Cambodia-US bilateral trade reaches $2.8bn in 1H20

The bilateral trade reaches $2.8bn in the first half of 2020, recording a 15.8% increase compared to the same period last year, according to figures from the US Statistics Bureau. Cambodia exported $2.75bn worth of goods to the world's largest economy, a 23% increase YoY. Lim Heng, vice president of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, said that the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) have attracted more factories to the Kingdom. He noted that there are many factories opened and the existing factories have changed their production to the duty-free products for the US market. Cambodia mainly exported textiles, footwear, travel goods, and agriculture products to the US, and imported vehicles, animal feed and machinery. (Source: Khmer Times)
