Cargo traffic at PAS up 18% YoY

Cargo traffic at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) rose 18% YoY during the first nine months of 2019, according to the company CEO Lou Kim Chhun. President of the Cambodia Freight Forwarders Association (CAMFFA) Sin Chanthy said that cargo passing through the port mostly consists of textiles and argriculture goods, noting that the growth in container traffic is the result of the country’s robust economic performance. Kim Chhun noted that the increase in cargo shipments is casuing congestion, a problem exacerbated by traffic problems along the National Road 4, which leads to the port. (Source: Khmer Times)
